Moodboard why you need one!

A moodboard is a visual representation of how you want your brand to look and feel. You want to incorporate the feeling you want your ideal client to have while working with you, you want to include your colors, inspiration, and maybe even some inspirational quotes you love! A moodboard also helps your designer align your vision with your brand.

Your process for creating moodboards should be FUN and not feel like work at all! We love love love using pinterest for this. You can take a peek at our branding board on our pinterest page.

Here is our example, at Wild Dreams co, our ideal client is a creative boss babe, she is also a mom, a wife, and has laid back personality! She loves working 1:1 with her clients and doesn’t have time to create all her social media graphics, her ebook covers, and her brand looks very inconsistent because it has been something she put on the back burner. She wants someone who can bring her vision to life, just by listening to exactly what she needs. We also love the color pink, typography trends, inspirational quotes, and are a bit sassy and full of fun, so our simple moodboard is a reflection on that!

Here is what we do with our clients while creating a moodboard. We create a secret shared Pinterest board. We highly recommend no self-editing, just find images that you love, anything from colors, fonts, other designs not pertaining to your industry, patterns, textures, landscapes, and even how you’d like your ideal client to look! Anything and EVERYTHING that really inspires you and gets you excited! Remember this should be a FUN process. After your pinterest board is created you will go back into the board and now edit your board, find about 10-15 images that reflect the feeling you want to portray with your new brand and your color story as well should come from here. See what colors speak to you and stand out the most in your eyes. Then we will use those 10-15 images to create your moodboard reflecting your colors as well. That’s it! Fun and easy peasy!
